I've tried posting a rent for house help ad. The process was pain. They accused me of exploitation because in their view the job did not pay as well as cleaning job. In my view, people can at their free will choose either the conditions I offer or a cleaning job. I am not exploiting anyone as long as I pay above minimum wage whether this is money or rent.
I have tried to explain to them why my job is more attractive than a cleaning job, but they just blocked me. Other people in other reviews also mentioned that they block everyone who politely disagrees with them.
Looking at the overall score of this company it seems like they are indeed hopeless.

Absolutely appalled with administration from this website, it is run by children no consideration or regards to the well-being of patrons using the website, I've heard of countless cases of fraud and identity theft… very dodgy website full of suspicious people.
Never using again…

I would give zero stars if possible. They have absolutely no respect for customers who do not pay for premium membership. They deactivated my ad a few days after I posted it online, without even notifying me at all. I was shocked to find that out because I got good response from Gumtree and Facebook but nothing from this website. Also they use bots aka fake profiles to trick you into buying premium membership. This company should be reported asap

Could not recommend this website! Have sent numerous messages - two replies!
People have made appointments but do not keep! I guess there is quite a large part of the human racethat is the height of all rudeness!

Looking for a tenant to rent a room and placed an advert on the site.
Firstly the newer profiles you cant contact if you dont have a paid account.
Once you do go with the paid service it is of no help.
Not much response, contact details are not correct always and more over not alot of new profiles. Keep seeing same people time and again.
If they claim to have alot of users on the site they can also offer guarantees that you will find a tenant from there site otherwise will get your money back
Honestly i got a better response from gum tree and facebook than this site. Waste of time and money and no reuslts.
I am finishing 1 month and now the next month will start on there extend policy but it is of no use if you dont have any proper matches. Get your act right flatmate.com.au

I was placing an ad to rent out a room in my place. Flatmates withholds all messages from potential customers unless we upgrade our account and pay them more money(especially for Early Bird). After upgrading my account, over half of the customers who contacted me were no longer interested. I do not feel that upgrading my account is anywhere near worth the money. You feel like you are selling your product at a loss if you even want a sale, and there are other websites out there that are cheaper and easier to use.

Flatmates will incorrect publish your information unless you have typed it out yourself. Do not use any of their templates. For example, 'all bills included' gets shown to the public as 'internet bill included'. Flatmates even tried to argue back saying that 'internet bill included' does not imply that other bills are not included. How is the potential customer supposed to interpret that when reading it?

On several occasions I have tried to contact Flatmates to ask for additional questions and clarifications. The responses have always been hopeless and do not actually answer any of my questions. I do not know how useful the website is for tenants looking for a room, but I have to post what my experiences have been like trying to use the website to find a tenant.

DO NOT TRUST MEMBER TERESE. English is my second language and when I attended an inspection at one of the 13 properties Terese is advertising, she stole money out of my account. I did not understand what she was doing till the money had been removed out of my account. Do not be fooled by this person.
