I just made a purchase with them. They sent the wrong item so I contacted them. They want me to send the item back which is not a problem but I don not have a return label. Then they told me when I made my order they were out of stock. Why couldn't they let me know that when I made my purchase? Then they suggested that I purchase their smaller size. Why would I do that knowing how expensive their shipping is? And to top it off even though it was THEIR mistake I can't get my refund until they receive their item. I generally like purchasing from them but I don't know if I will again. I have a body butter business and it's affecting it. This is so how you do NOT do business.
I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing from this company. I found them on Amazon, then started ordering from the direct site. 1 of my packages was marked delivered but it was delivered to the wrong address with a picture of a house that is not mines. I was told that the product was delivered and they did their part! Now I have to wait over a week to get an answer on whether they go refund me or not. I also own a business and all of my packages are insured. I would never make a customer wait this long especially if they have proof that the package was not delivered properly. I provided the picture that was left by the postal service plus a picture of my home with the address in BIG numbers proving that my home address picture did not match the picture that was provided by the delivery company. I fully understand that they did mail the package but I also provided the right address on the order plus proof that it wasn't delivered to me. As a business owner I would immediately send out a replacement or refund, just to provide proper customer service. They will get their money back from the insurance claim! Don't even think about paying for faster shipping, it's still go come in the regular amount of days. I also made this mistake. I should have learned my lesson then. They won't get another opportunity to slow down the production of my products.
I purchased a 7lb tub of natural cocoa butter from them & received a dud. The product was hard and looked dried out except for a few dark spots. I tried to use it anyway, wondering if melting it down would solve the issue, and I was able to make lotion out of it but my recipe was off due to the consistency and the end product is hard to use, it doesn't seem to melt down in my hands as well as prior batches. Anyway I waited too long to try return it but I wrote to them asking how to dispose it and whether it may have gone bad and their customer service was not helpful at all. They ignored my question of whether it was bad and told me that the lot expired this month (a year after receiving it, when it was bad when I got it) and to contact my local waste disposal to figure out how to remove it. I get that they're no longer responsible for disposal once it's out of their hands, but if you can't even educate your customer then you have no business selling products with combustible warnings. And further why are they selling such large quantities of product that are nearly bad? A year is a quick turnaround for that amount of cocoa butter when the shelf life is 2-5 years... how long did it sit on their shelves? If it was that close to expiration and clearly already bad if you opened it, then the dates should be visible to customers before purchase & it should be offered at a discount. An expensive lesson that there are plenty of other sources available.
My business used their products with EXCELLENT customer reviews! Personally, I began using their products to replace Philosophy's Amazing Grace line...which has gone down hill since Coty bought the company. I get a BETTER product for LESS from Bulk Apothecary!
I have started making soap to sell in memory of my brother- the money raised goes to pat adoption fees for shelter animals-- That said- it was important to keep costs down so more money can go to the cause.
Not only are the prices at Bulk Apothecary competitive- their shipping costs are much more competitive than a lot of their competitors.
They get your order out quickly and it arrives as advertised.

I have such aweful experiences with Bulk Apothecary, I will never order from them again, they are the absolute worst to try and get an educated answer about there merchandise, my orders have come with bags broken open and spilled out, and they don't have good quality items. September the warehouse manager is rude and not helpful. No Stars!
So Im just now discovering these reviews on sitejabber.com. I have never heard of sitejabber.com before, nor did I see these reviews prior to placing my order. I am venturing into soap and candle making and somehow stumbled upon Bulk Apothecary, don't recall how. Im glad I didnt see these reviews prior to purchasing because I would have completely avoided this company due to the amount of negative reviews Ive seen.
What I can say this...I purchased $400 worth of supplies; oils, butters, and fragrance. I havent one negative thing to say about this company other than I wish the shipping would have been a tad bit faster. I think it took a little over a week to get my stuff and when i tried to open the 16oz fragrance containers the part you pull to unlock it was a little hard to get off...other than that, nothing to cmplain about. Im so used to shopping on amazon and getting my stuff with a couple of days some guess Im spoiled a bit. I even had to email them regarding a question about fragrance load percentage and the individual who helped me seemed polite and knowledgeable.
Not sure what the fuss is, but its 12.12.22 and after $400 worth of items, I will definitely order again.
At first I ordered the smallest bottles of sandalwood vanilla (formerly bath & bodywork devotee). I bought 6 and was very pleased. My recent order was escalated to larger sized bottles... NOT very pleased! It's almost as If to increase the amount, water was added. The oil's scent was 50% less strong than the smaller bottles. Ot happy with this order.
Tried to place an order for 208 oz of Eucalyptus essential oil they gave me the volume discount on 160 oz but charged me full price on 48 oz because they don't have the option add them together? Seriously? After I placed the order and questioned this, they literally said sorry and btw you were also entitled to a 15% discount which we are NOT going to give you. Because you missed entering the secret code
I placed an order on July 29th, on August 1 I received an email saying my pack shipped. I paid priority mail so when the package didn't arrive after 4 days I checked tracking. Tracking showed package had yet to be received by the USPS. I gave it ut a few more days nothing. On the 8th I emailed and was told the package was lost by the postal service and that they would reship in a few days. I asked for the new tracking info, they said it woukd be shipped with the same tracking number.? You can't use the same tracking number on the new package as the replacement package?!? When I noted that to the lady in customer service, she said yes they can and that's how it was going to be. Why not be honest and instead of saying you shipped my items, when clearly they were never shipped, say there will be a delay and see if I want to wait or not. I wasted money on priority mail, they won't tell me when my items will ship, and they keep lying to me. I can't even get my money back. The lying about the shipping is what really makes me mad, why not just say there will be a delay. I have spent a lot of money with them in the last year and this is just absolutely the worst customer service ever! Honestly if the lady who answered me back is the customer service supervisor like she claims, they might as well just close the doors because she doesn't know how to do her job, and she is going to lose you a lot of business.
I received my order of about $500 worth and received wrong items. When you call the answering machine comes on saying they are closed. Yet they are supposed to be open from 8-430. I called at 230, so then I send an email. No response…I should know better because I have had a bad experience before sending products that weren't as described or again sent wrong products. I spent much more on the item then what they sent me. If they don't respond I will go same route as before to reporting them. I find it's a bad reflection on management and therefore the employees are the same way. This company needs to be revamped and get better customer service. It's a nightmare to deal with them.
This company is as bad as they come. I bought (3) 16oz bottles of essential oils. They apparently leaked during shipping and the carrier sent them back before they even got to me. When I finally got my order, one of the canisters leaked and it weighed at 19.1, canister and oil. The other two weighed at 19.9-they did not leak at all. The company sent me. 5oz oil to replace the oil from the one canister that leaked. Well, that adds up to 19.6oz... still missing. 3oz. They refused to make that up saying that they overfill their canisters just in case they leak. True shame that their practices are not honest and fair.
I ordered white beeswax. Spent over $65 on shipping and customs on a $55 product. When it arrived it had the most foul smell ever! I immediately reached out to the company only to be told that I will have to pay to ship back ($65) for a partial refund! Doesn't make sense. Then I email them again they ask for the lot # so they can look into it, get a partial refund without sending back and guess what? They say its fine. I have to throw out the product that in the end cost me over $100. What a waste...
Oils leaked during shipping on my very first order. The oils leaked so bad, the box was saturated snd my post office called me to ask me to immediately come and pick up the shipment. When I reported this to Customer Service, they would only replace missing ounces, nothing to compensate for the inconvenience. They did ship a replacement of the missing ounces. Those leaked as well. Not going to order from them again. First and last order.
BULK Apothecary - Bad customer service. They gave me credit minus the shipping cost. You will need to eat the loss. I recommend not to buy or have dealings with these people. They sold me dough bowls for candles that had holes in the bottom of bowls. They credit my loss i paid for the bowls only, but will not give back shipping cost. Read in small print before buying from these people. I will be sure and share this with all other groups that I'm in contact with. Very bad customer satifaction. I will personaly never give them my business again. Many other business out there like - Camden Grey or Bramble Berry. These two are much better choices.
I've been a loyal customer since last year when I stumbled upon them on Google they have great prices but be warned it comes with a price! Garbage products. Their body butter is grainy hard to work with, I bought foaming bath whip they sent me cosmetic base instead I had to find another website and I am please the only thing I like is their fragrance oils that's it and I'm planning to go elsewhere because their coconut fragrance oil literally has no scent I'm fitting to throw them out today! Being cheap isn't always good.
Spoke with them they email! By far the worst! This company is taking money! Lying about sending product! I wish I would of read the reviews before I spent money on essential oil I never received! Launching my scrubs March 5! Major set bk! But I will not recommend this company to anyone!
I placed a $445 order of goat milk soap base with this company. They gave me a wrong tracking number that showed no info. When I called 10 days after waiting, I was rudely told I had left my apt off so it was my fault and I'd have to pay again to get my order returned to me. I still have no order, and they still have my money. I am sure I did not leave my apt off and if they had given me the right tracking I could've fixed that issue and got my pkg. I am sure this company is scamming people and taking their $. And they put rude agents on the phone that make it clear they do not care about any issues your having. Please do yourself a favor and NEVER SHOP HERE!
I have been using them for the last year and as the time has gone on, the quality of the product has gone downhill and the customer service is horrible. Passive aggressive customer service reps, private label soaps don't have smell like anything. Shipping is super long. Paid for next day shipping and it took over a week.Not only that, I cancelled the order and they still shipped it. Won't be using them again. They also have to approve all reviews on their website, which is why they have so many 5 star reviews on their website. Find another company to support because they are arrogant
If I could give them a zero, I would. I placed another larger (over $250) bulk order and they sent my 2 items that were NOT ordered/incorrect and one of the bowls was terribly deformed! I sent emails and called and despite the fact that THEY did not properly fill my order, they want me to send back the incorrect items? For example, they sent me 5lbs of CORN STARCH instead of 5lbs of ARROWROOT powder. They want me to send it back? I have no box to put it in, their return label is not printing correctly on my computer and I have to travel 45-50 min JUST to get to a UPS location/store to drop it off! They make mistakes and send me crappy products and they want me to put in all this effort? I have already sent several emails and made several calls and the people there are USELESS. They asked me to send pictures so I did but that didn't do anything but cause me more work and time! AND, I left a message and emails for a manager to contact me to NO AVAIL! What kind of company is this? Do they work out of their garage or something? I also agree re: many of the products being crappy. Watery, etc. VERY DISSAPPOINTED! How can they NOT send me what I ORDERED and PAID for and not make it right?! I tried to load the pics here but it's not working...
