Don't pay in advance I doubt if you will get the service you require if you pay them as you are served. I registered for a class in Interior Design, excited about the process of an on-line protocol I paid my entire tuition up front. The first few lessons were exciting and interesting. The promise mentoring, student advisers, professional assistance. My most insulting response to an e-mail about a challenged with a website problem was."you are not my only student". Heaven forbid if my less that $1,000.00 was the only funds they had. It's clear that the instructors, and/or student advisers are young, however a lesson in etiquette and or learning how to talk to adults in an adult learning process is paramount. My concern was a computer glitch or IT problem which prevented me from submitting my assignment and prevented me from moving forward with a course that I had already paid for. I understand if you don't finish in the time frame allowed they can extend the time but WHAT DOES IT COST? Being real excited about this school which is associated with Ashford Collage and Penn Foster was a big yellow light flashing fast. Have a "student adviser" who speaks or communicates with a (Degree holding college graduate, senior, professional) with over 40 years of work experience including teaching at a law enforcement academy was a kick in the pants. I am, however going to go the distance and might do another review when I have completed the course and moved on to something else. For now I would highly recommend that potential students research the school, the complaints and the reviews before paying for courses here. Right now that are not at the top of my list for recommendations and I have reserved my communication to very specific times. I won't even respond to an e-mail if it is outside of the regular operations time. The instructors, student advisers, etc. are not in the same location. It's all on line. That alone should command more professionalism and a little less "narcissism". I was planning to register for two more courses but I've decided that looking at other schools might be the ideal way to invest money in my continuing education. At age 60 plus it's not ethical to have young instructor communicate with you like they are talking to children... It's a little insulting but laughable. Teaching is a humble opportunity not an avenue for arrogance... That being said I digress and continue to search for another school to do my AutoCAD and possibly home staging. Good luck to anyone who registers with PennFoster, AshfordCollege or NYIAD. Good luck trying to get a call through after you've paid. Be patient if you've already paid and get your money's worth.
