Genius idea to have children's text messages monitored by people who understand all of their chat messages. The service is rather expensive but well worth it I think. Just the fact that my daughter knows someone is watching her texts I think makes her a little more responsible. Plus if anything ever happens, there is an entire record of who she has been in contact with and the police can easily get involved.
The one things that is missing is the monitoring of the internet usage on the blackberry. This company monitor texting, but does not monitor instant messaging on the internet using the cell phone.
While you may not want to invade your child's privacy, if you do not do this and something bad happens to your child then you will always regret it. I saw on TV how many parents who were victims of online predators wished they had watched their child more closely. I signed up for this service and feel better knowing I have done everything I can to protect my child. When we were young it was watching out at playgrounds for our children getting abducted, now it is just as important to keep them safe online.
The service is excellent. Easy to use and I feel 100% safer knowing there is some control over what can and can't happen using there cell phones. I understand privacy concerns, but there children, when they are old enough to make safe and educated choices on the topic, then they won't need the service anymore. My Kids safety is worth 10$ a month no question!
I have some seriously concerns about the privacy aspects of this technology. Also, given the design of the website, I feel like the company selling this product is engaging in marketing that is close to fear-mongering (i. E., these horrible things will happen to your children unless you use our technology). Finally, I worry that busy parents will use products like this, assume it is enough to keep them safe, and then otherwise neglect them. Parents: please be skeptical.
Was looking for a service to let me monitor my son's activity on the cell phone just so he knew he was being monitored. Worked great for a few months until I saw that he was doing fine and didn't need to be constantly monitored anymore. When I went to close my account, it didn't work and they kept charging my card every month. So I kept trying to close the account. Finally got it to close but they are still charging my card. I am working towards reporting them for fraud. I can no longer log into my account but keep getting charged. Now I have to go block payments to them on my credit card and dispute charges to get them removed.
Saw this site on the Dr. Phil show and have forced my kids to use it. They thought I was spying on them at first and didn't like it. What got them to use it was that it was a blackberry and the "coolness" of having a blackberry was worth their texts being monitored. After about a couple months they completely forgot about it. I do think it is wise to be up front and honest with your children and let them know that their texts are being watched by a third party company. I also like that the company watches their texts and I am not personally directly spying on them.
I was excited at first, and it all seemed great. Then I had technical difficulties and you can't reach anyone. It always rings, then the voicemail greeting says everyone's busy please leave a message. They don't get back to you right away so that when they do, you aren't available or don't have the kid's phone with you (because the kid is at school... duh), so nothing can be done. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but my son's phone still will not allow him to dial the emergency numbers under a time restriction as it is advertised on the company's site. VERY unsafe and VERY frustrating. I am giving them one more chance, then we are moving on.
How can a person use you're website to stalk someone for their own pleasure? You guys make me sick.
