Actually any left-wingers at all are way, way too many. At MovieChat left-wingers take their totally non-right-to-nerve stances and start telling others what the latter can and cannot like. The WOKE crowd even insanely denies postings that can even back up what their saying with sources. The editing needs to be done to Woke individuals.

Moviechat is terrible. It is mostly just fighting about politics with no movie discussion. The moderation is awful and they allow hate speech, racism, and misogyny. It is a garbage site filled with garbage people.

50% of the posts come from some troll who keeps, for some reason, yelling at everyone and saying stupid stuff. Until this day, he hasn't learned how to use the Caps Lock button. The site attracts a lot of people with various mental and pathological problems. It's kind of sad. You can't call this a movie site, just a bunch of people doing random stuff. The site is a waste of time.

I have been with this website for 6 years after imdb closed its message boards. I have been entertained endlessly. The content just keeps on growing. There is a movie club on Friday and Saturday nights where you can watch movies on Tubi with other posters and comment on them. Some good people to hang out with. Yeah there are some mean posters but they can easily be avoided by putting them on your ignore list or just simply scrolling by. The moderators do a good job of removing posters who are unruly. Join up and join the fun!

If you liked IMDb's boards, MovieChat has preserved them. Just like IMDb's boards, there's some good characters and some bad. But really, it's the only place which offers discussion for every film ever made and every actor who's played even a walk-on role in a movie. Valuable resource.

The site is filled with racism, misogyny, transphobia and alt-right propaganda in almost every thread. The mods tolerate and even endorse such behavior. Banning users for defending themselves from trolls.

Avoid!

The Internet Movie Database shut down it's forums a few years ago and I needed a place to ask questions about my favorite movies. Last year I found Moviechat. I signed up and never got confirmation to start typing my questions.

I contacted a number of administrators from the help center and only one replied that the person in charge will eventually get to my e-mail. One year later I am still waiting.

This site is poorly administered and should be avoided. I will continue to find a better forum for my film queries.

Movie chat is a toxic echo-chamber for the alt-right, you will frequently find people writing endless racist posts about celebrities and minorities while spreading conspiracy theories about Covid and the government. Not that I follow any narratives, but the amount of bigotry on this website is enough to make your skin crawl. If you dare speak up about it or try to refute anyone's claims then you will be deleted and banned by the admins, despite you not breaking any website rules of conduct. Merely being a dissenting voice against the hive mind is enough to be blocked from using it. Moviechat is less of a film discussion site and more of an extremist subreddit.

I signed up on movie chat when imdb cancelled their message boards. I have met some great cyber buddies there. Have also gained a plethora of knowledge on movies!

This site is full of left wing lunatics and woke crackpots. Everything discussion gets ambushed by over sensitive libtards complaining about racism and misogyny. Avoid at all costs!
