I've been in IP since about 2001. What I really like about the course is that it not only tells you the rules about a given topic but links the relevant sections of the MPEP. Not only that, but the real-world best practices and advice are invaluable. For example, an ADS isn't technically required in a provisional, but here's why you should use one…. Etc. I have found the reasoning behind helps to clarify things I always did, but didn't know why!
What's really great is that you do it at your own pace, and you have the guide for future reference. The customer service is great - answers to questions, and help if you need it. I would highly recommend this course.
Excellent! My firm paid for this trademark paralegal certification course to get me started as a trademark paralegal. I found the course really well-explained. Everything was step by step with good screen-shots. Best of all the support was from real trademark attorneys who were always there to help (by email). It sometimes took a few hours to get a reply but the answers were always well thought-out and very helpful. Nice to get the official trademark paralegal certificate too! I very highly recommend IPLEGALED. JR. PS: I see someone said the course was out of date. That's not correct at all. The course I took is totally up to date and really comprehensive. The attorney I work for was very impressed.
Someone asked about the IPlegalEd.com patent paralegal course. I took it last year. It was really excellent. Clear and current materials with very helpful support. Helped me with my job. I would give it two thumbs up.
I got my company to sign me up for this course and I wish I had done it ages ago. Best patent training I've ever had. My attorneys keep borrowing the training materials! Clear and up to date and covered loads of things I did not know. Great step-by-step examples for USPTO forms and patent processes. And really helpful support from professional attorneys and paralegals. Sometimes it took a few hours to hear back, but they were always knowledgeable and very helpful. It got me a raise and a promotion. Could not be happier. Thanks!
Just finished the IPLEGALED course for patent paralegals and passed the final exam. I had no idea there was so much to learn! I have been doing this for three years and there was so much I was not aware of. I am sure it has made me a much better paralegal! Thank you IPLEGALED, especially for all the online support when I needed it. Your tutors were very helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend this course to anyone in the IP field. Update: Just took the Trademark course too. Really great. A big boost to my career. Totally up to date. Excellent course.
The course is definitely one of the best of its kind, presenting the material in such a comprehensive, yet concise manner.
It grants you a solid theoretical basis, supported by vast statutory and procedural rules, combined with practical and tangible tools to be implemented through online resources and docketing systems. The skills you gain from the IPlegalED course are absolutely applicable to your daily work as a paralegal and are NOT general or ephemeral qualifications.
This course makes you a "plug and play" paralegal!
I would especially like to emphasize the form of the author's narration that was very appealing to me, where the tutor refers specifically to paralegals, and does not talk to abstract or faceless readers. It gives you a feeling of self-respect that you are truly becoming part of the complex process of patenting inventions.
I cordially recommend the course to all IP paralegals.
Answer: I have also taken the IPLEGALED patent course recently. My friend took the trademark course. It was awesome! I learned so much that I now use continuously, and the course book is superb. I refer to it almost daily. - Stacy
Answer: I concur. Absolutely worth the money. Maybe the only course that really is. Helped me a lot with my career in patent law.
Answer: Yes - It is indeed. The course is designed to teach you everything you need to know in your day-to-day work as a patent paralegal. It's well recognized by law firms and corporate/government IP departments, so it's of real value if you are entering IP from another field of paralegal work. It's truly comprehensive and up-to-date (unlike other course that claim to be!) and you get unlimited support from practicing professionals. Having been a litigation paralegal, you will be in a strong position to transition as you will have work experience that shows you can handle deadlines and stress while being accurate and dependable. Patent work is not nearly as stressful as litigation, but it does involve a lot of important deadlines. It also has its share of mundane tasks. But patent attorneys are usually pretty nice people, which helps. It's also a very stable employment field, which is also a good thing! If you have any other questions, please email us from the website (www.iplegaled.com). With best wishes.
