Data taken hostage by Godaddy service without notice. Received an email Sunday 20:30pm, blocked Monday 9am. Not good for business. Apparently for ID verification. ID is provided in less than 10 minutes, then they go silent for three days now counting. No help from customer service, no help from privacy officer, no help from verification office. A total waste of time and reputation in front of clients. If they need data, they can request it upon account setup (there are trustworthy ID verification services) or kindly comply with their own timings. They even requested photos of credit cards via email, reeks of phishing. AVOID like the plague.
For example, spent 90 minutes with a Tier 1 suuport person who then needed to raise me to a "dedicated team" to resolve. The simple issue was a SOA entry in the domain name service record that had an EXPIRE time that was outside the 2-4 week recommended value. After all that, the "dedicated team" member said that I had to buy the premium domain name service to be able to edit that value! Unbelievable rip off. They specify their server and an out-of-spec EXPIRE time and I need to pay them more? Bug off. I'm gone at next renewal.
Extremely Disappointed After 10+ Years with GoDaddy I've been a loyal GoDaddy customer for over a decade — with multiple domains, hosting packages, and various add-ons under my account. But sadly, after years of patience and repeated disappointment, I feel compelled to share my experience. The customer support is a nightmare. Every single chat session feels like pulling teeth — long waiting times just to get one-line replies, and most responses are vague or indirect. There's no sense of urgency, no genuine effort to help, and not even a simple apology for the delays or confusion. You'd expect a global company like GoDaddy to prioritize loyal customers — but that's far from reality. You get scripted, robotic responses, and you're often passed around without any resolution. Even basic requests feel like a battle. In today's competitive hosting and domain market, good support is everything — and GoDaddy has consistently failed to deliver. After investing so much money and time with them, it's honestly heartbreaking to be treated this way. If you're a business owner or developer looking for reliability, transparency, and real human support — I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
GoDaddy steals from customers via "theft by service." Every time you call into GD you will be upsold, it is commonplace. They won't solve the issue you called about but they will upsell you at every chance. "oh it's bc you need this services or that service...so after a while you agree to the additional services, in this case its their "Marketing Services" at $120/mo. However, when it comes time to perform the tasks they have been assigned they quote you 48hours turnaround time, but it takes 2 weeks before they perform any of these. Better yet when you call back in to ask for a credit or refund they drag you through hours (currently spent 1h 12m on before a first contact answered, then I got passed around to two departments and placed on additional hold for 33m more, before getting an excuse to try and get me to accept a callback...FYI, NEVER do this, I'm on my 4th phone call to get a manager to call me back, 7 days and still not call back. GoDaddy management will LIE and do not ever call you back. EVER! They just hope you will go away so they can bill you again next month for services they have not performed. Currently, my company is filing complaints with the Comptroller's office for "theft by services" due to this issue happening multiple times over the years. We finally had enough and will take a stand against this deceptive practice. This isn't the first time GD has done this to us so we are now pressing the issue. If you can go ANYWHERE else, or hire a local person to build your site and not hire one of GoDaddy's Phillipeans-based "marketing experts" it is HIGHLY recommended you do it.
Terrible, rude customer"service". Never could get the website to function properly; couldn't get the payments section to appear.
Took one payment at an art show. They held it 35 days. Would not release the funds. Ended up refunding the customer in full. Cost me $750 plus cost of website.
You have been warned. Find another service.

On hold for hours, literally, they failed to change; customers have to wait 5 days before event to book, unchangeable apparently. The real experts are not allowed to talk to you unless you pay another £100 per month. Absoloute nightmare company, I guess they are lying about their own 'reviews' on trust pilot and the like but if you read reddit or similar you will see how bad they really are.
Been on the phone all afternoon and texting with four different people about my site not responding, minutes to load a page, server not responding errors. No one could resolve the issue. Every customer service rep ended up leaving chat or disconnecting when they could not figure out a way to fix the problem. I have started the process of leaving them for another hosting company. This was the worst customer service experience ever.
Do not *******@GoDaddy with your domain purchases! They locked me out of my account and removed my registered domain just 4 days after purchase. After a week of relentless follow-ups, they simply told me my account isn't eligible for reinstatement. It feels like they might be reselling domains at higher prices? I have had an account with them since 2018. $160,000 in transactions with my small business as its been growing. They say they are all about helping businesses grow. But my first big client, big down-payment they shut my entire payment account down OVERNIGHT and still charged me processing fees *$1100. THE BEST PART is its "their policy'' not to answer why. They won't tell you. I lost a $70k account overnight. I spent hours on the phone and kept hearing "we can't tell you why. It's just closed". BE WARNED that you're your clients money are NOT SAFE and they won't explain why. Really horrible experience and I will be taking both my businesses and as many colleagues with me as I can.
I was charged for the $259 service I asked to be removed from. Then I spent 4 days over 2 months and over 10 hours trying to get a refund. I filled out forms and got no response. I was re-routed and hung up on multiple times. They just wear you down so you don't try anymore to get a refund. I reported them to the BBB and disputed the charge to my credit card company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Passive aggressive team. Higher up management has major issues knowing how to deal and solve issues. Unprofessional to the max. Unable to be held accountable and responsible of their own word. Will bounce you off around others. My male husband who is calm and level headed has spent a collective 20 hours on the phone to various teams while our small business was down on our emails for over a week - losing us about 20K as well as putting vulnerable disability families at risk. He had to call at 2am to the Arizona team on multiple days.
Feel sorry for all the middle man servers in the team who are stuck and are unable to do anything.

Joke of a company as per attached screenshot. We have tried for weeks and weeks to solve this, we understood the issue. But it was the empty promises and inability to follow through.
Do not under any circumstances sign up with godaddy.com. They lied to me, and would not refund my money. Their web builders are not trained, they do not listen, and they do not build websites that anybody would want to publish. I was lied to, told that I could pay $1200 in advance for 10 years and I could build my own website. When I called them and said I don't know how to build my own website, they said you do not have access to build your own website, you were lied to. We will not refund your money, but we will build you a magnificent website that you can be proud of. After working with them for six months, I could not get them to build a website that I would publish under my name, because it was so amateurish. Their builders do not listen, or understand. I had actually built a website that I asked them to copy but make better for my $1200. They did not. When I asked Go Daddy to refund my money, they said you need to ask for a refund within 30 days, even though they did not tell me this was the case. Do not under any circumstances sign up with them. They are dishonest, and sell you products you don't need, and then refuse to refund when they don't give you the products and the service that you paid for.
The customer service experience was terrible. I have 7 email accounts and 5 domains with them, but when I needed assistance the most, they made me wait for 2 1/2 weeks without providing a resolution. They repeatedly asked me to perform trivial troubleshooting steps, such as restarting the computer each time I contacted them. They lack a comprehensive customer database, requiring me to explain the issue repeatedly during every call. Dealing with them has been extremely frustrating. I am considering switching to a different service provider. I definitely would not recommend them.
Worst Service had them design new web site was very very bad the worst My 4 year old could have done better job. Then ask to have it fixed they what me to fix it. What was I paying for. A prospect wanted to rent one of our homes, but we denied her application due to her poor credit. The application fee is non-refundable, and this is stated on the application and on our website. The prospect then disputed the $100 application fee charge, and GoDaddy removed $115 from my account. They then awarded me back the $100 after I disputed the matter. She then filed a second dispute, and I again disputed with the same information I sent them originally. Now they have decided to award her the $100 and take $420 for themselves for handing the dispute on her behalf. So now I am out $520, including the expenses for the credit and criminal search, as well as my time to process her application. She willingly went to my website to complete and application and make payment for the application fee, was denied, and then decided to dispute the charge. Criminal. And GoDaddy is criminal for participating in this scheme. They informed me that they were debiting $520 from my account with no explanation of their findings and said the Case was Closed!

Horrible experienceDo not trust this company. They will not listen to any of your directives, they will not respect your product or your business. They will cash your check spend five minutes on a webpage what you will then spend the next three months trying to get all of the grammatical errors corrected, trying to get rid of stock pictures you never put in your gallery, or even trying to get them to put your correct products on your page. Nightmare to work with ……anybody is better than this. Hire your 7th grader who took an intro to web design course, at least they might actually listen to you.
Good god! Even something as simple as forwarding a domain is a nightmare with GoDaddy. Error message appears that something "is too long", yet it doesn't tell you what is too long. Then prepare yourself for an hour on hold...as I am right now...after being hung up on accidentally with a previous call and they didn't call back. AND I'M EVEN PRO LEVEL. For as much as they're raping for annually, you'd think that they'd have their own site functioning well enough to not have to call in to them. Yep...NOPE. Find someone else to host your domains. When signed up they changed their initial price offer into a more expensive one that should have been a heads up but didn't pay attention. Payment services every time you charge a card is security breach like you're a dishonest person. They should check ID'S and everything at account opening not halting businesses operation later on and refunds and I have to deal with disappointed customers because of their actions plus customer service doesn't know the difference between a domestic and a foreign corporation impossible to deal with them closed account and moved to another provider
