Even if I could put up with the difficulty in finding anything and the constantly flashing and usually horribly inappropriate ads, the new site's sheer incompetence is astonishing - wrong scores, refresh reverting to an hour ago, etc. etc. - considering that this site, to which I was a daily visitor for hours at a time for over ten years, used to be user-friendly and very prompt and up-to-date with information. Absolutely disgusted.
This website was great before ESPN took over. Now it is a poorly organized website where you have to scroll through several MBs of garbage before you get to what you want to read. Poor editing/quality control - headlines are often misleading and you end up loading content that you didn't really want to read. For some of us in many parts of the world, data is on a premium. Please organize your site better.
For those who can't enjoy live broadcasts of cricket matches (software developers like me), CricInfo is de facto place of getting ball-by-ball updates of any international match. Commentary is very neutral most of the time. Articles are informative and writing styles are classy. Their stats guru service is the most comprehensive database of cricket matches that I know of, and is freely available for executing complex queries.
I'd have liked them to post inline video highlights within live commentaries (e.g. Dismissals, centuries and half centuries, extra-ordinary moments etc), but I guess those would involve copyright problems, so they can't/don't do it.
If you love cricket, you need to consult this site every day. The normal sports pages of the newspaper websites are largely useless. Cric info has everything which is current news, but also old news too.
I'd like a more comprehensive video section, for which I have to go on Youtube, but the reporting and the layout is superb.
That's it! I keep trying to get used to the new website because Cricinfo was always by far the best. It is the most user unfriendly experience on the internet. I will not put myself through the pain of this website. Luckily there are other options.
You just lost one more customer. I used to log into cricinfo everyday - now I stopped following cricket just because I feel disgusted to log into cricinfo.
There is a saying in software world - if the process is working then do not change it. What were you thinking?
espncricinfo.com is a great site for all cricket lovers. I have been following this website for the past ten years and i am happy to say that their work has been immaculate. All the latest updates from cricket world, close stats on player profiles make them unique from other websites. Live play coverage, commentary and photos make them a cricketing heaven for all cricket lovers.
I wonder why they changed the website layout last month. It was fine as it was. The new layout is complicated & disorganized. Not to mention the increase in pop up ads in this new design. I don't feel like going to the site anymore :(
Error, Error, Error in score card. Totally unhappy with new design lay out. Not clear with the features. Very very unhappy with appearance. Looks like unprofessional work. How a world class sports channel have a site like this?
The new versio had made it difficult to find information. Both on mobile app and on website. Its been very very bad new designs and made difficult for accessing information. Hope this guys have a look.
