I wish there was a way to enter my own amount rather than what ever amount the auctioneer sets. Also I saw several online participants that entered a starting bid but the auctioneer didn't call them out.
I like the function and interface of Equipment Facts. Auction experience was good and bidding was easy. While looking at items during the auction I could not find a way to make photos larger. While bidding some items would require a huge jump to the next bid, maybe this is the auctioneer doing this but it's a big deterrent to making the next bid. Overall I like Equipment Facts and I have recommended it to friends and family
Thank for for the feedback!
Everything went well until the second day of the auction. I did the test bid and everything worked well until about 1/2 way through the sell I bid on something once them equipment facts disabled my bid button had to call in and was told it was some kind of thing that thought it was a fraudulent bid. Took a few minutes to get it resolved but I missed several items while it was being reset.
Thanks for the feedback Tim!
I was not furnished with the round baler monitor on my purchase. It was late in the day and hectic. The baler had instructions wax crayon written on the baler cowling that the control monitor was in the office. I have informed Chalker's Auction of the circumstances and hope to have correct resolution.
I assume site was supposed to be controlling but i saw many items people has bid online...more than final price...get removed and "onsite" get put in there.
I bid and it said i won one item but as yet have not been contacted. Never did see it on my screen.
Have bid many other times with similar results.
Perhaps more training or just reminding them to wait for the web delay would go along way.
I almost never buy online anymore when a buyers premium is involved.
I also never assume the platform will actually work when it is time to bid.
Thanks for the feedback, Jason. The seller should follow-up in 24-48 hours if not sooner. The platform is merely simulcasting the auction for the auctioneer, who controls the auction. We follow along as best as we can but remember each seller is different, we'll try to do better.
Searching items (utility vehicles) with filters was easy and it's better if you skip "current location" and enter your zip code. On the day of the auction, there were initial audio problems at the auction, which they corrected. The bidding went smoothly and I won my item.
The only problem I had was locating the invoice - clicking on "My Invoices" led me to the whole auction and I still can't find an invoice (preferably itemized) online. I see this as a major issue that should be fixed. It is also difficult going to the "buying" page - when a bidder is ready to enter an auction, there should be a visible link to click on the splash page.
Crenshaw auction…I had prebid on three items, rear tires and wheels, front tires and wheels and a set of forklifts. All for a JD tractor and loader. I won the rear tires and the fronts got a little too expensive for me so I let them go. My problem was, my prebid for the forks was $400 on Thursday for a Saturday auction. So, a bid for $100 was used to start the auction then my bid $200, again someone for $300 was used and then my prebid of $400. In my mind I had won the auction only to hear the auctioneer call a bidder number of an on site bidder. I've emailed them twice with no response. I know this isn't a big ticket item, but what if it were? The prebid wasn't acknowledged at all and that is not just wrong, but very aggravating.
Thank you for the feedback, we'll let them know.
The auction company did an extremely poor job of representing a piece of equipment I purchased online. I've used online auctions many times with great success. They took a few pictures of the best looking parts of the trailer but didn't show any of the bad and I do mean BAD spots! I would not have bid on it had they represented it properly, but I guess that's how they can make more money, by hiding the damage. Also I went to the address they had listed on the website and was taken 30 miles away to a different location. I will not be giving them a good review.
Thank you for the feedback, we'll let the seller know.
The biggest issue was the quality of the audio. Could not understand nearly a single word during the auction. It sounded like there were multiple phones sitting on speaker right next to each other. Awful experience.
Secondly, the operator of the online portion could not keep up and keep entering the wrong value of the bid. However. If the person was not live at the auction there is no way they could have understood based on the audio quality. Thirdly, I won a UTV. However come to find out I was bidding against a live person and the auctioneer did not establish communication with "web people" so it was effectively sold to 2 individuals. Didn't find that out till I was packing up to come get the item. Awful experience pretty much overall.
Thank you for the feedback! We'll let the seller know, sometimes the issues are out of their control.
The bidding was done well, and the speed was really fast. The Auctioneer was really fast working through lots.
One issue I had, when in the final bidding stage of the bid between myself and another bidder, 4/5 times the floor bidder won. I was hitting the bid button, the auctioneer would wait 3-5 seconds before selling the item. When floor bidder was high bidder, he would wait 2 seconds and sell the item. I was bidding, and hit the button, but the auctioneer sold it to the floor bidder. The first one i thought, well i better bid faster. After the second one, i couldn't hit the bid button any faster. Missed out on 4 items this way that I was bidding higher on.
Thanks Klayton! Unfortunately the auctioneer is likely more responsive to the live bidder since they're right there with them.
Thank for for the feedback! We'll let the seller know but the auctioneer controls the sale of the items, even if an online bid is made he doesn't have to accept it or may choose accept the floor bid instead.
