Poor selection for clothes priced too highly in my opinion. I will never get over what their CEO said a few years back about how he only wants the popular, thin, and attractive people to wear his clothes. If you like blowing your money on outdated clothes in a dark room smelling intensely of perfume then you've found the right place.
All I wanted was a gift card for my wife. It would have been easier to order a new kidney. Absolute ineptitude. Took 3 weeks to get a GC delivered, and this was after 9 calls with EF. Will NEVER buy anything from them again.
Hope this review is helpful, cause you suck.
I wear Eileen Fisher clothes for the last 30 years - all natural fibers - I buy on line and their shipping is free even if you need to return - great customer service by phone or in store. EF give $5.00 each item on gift card on clothes that you do not wear anymore!
Eileen Fisher fabrics are very cheap although the design is lovely. If they are made in China, the cost for a blouse that sells for $150 probably is $7. I think Ms Fisher might consider next time she does a public program with one of her philosophic gurus to talk about honesty..
Quick to take your $$$, but buyer beware: if there is a problem, all you get is "I'm sorry", or "What do you want my to do?" Eileen could use to have a team meeting with her lackeys, before it's too late
Spent 350 on a corduroy jacket. It was defective bc there was a swath of lining material in the right sleeve. I had to purchase a new jacket and would not refund my money until received by the facility. Practically a month later, the item is still en route.
Paid $109 for sweatpants. The fabric disintegrates and black cotton is all over the floor, on bedding and my legs. I contacted customer support, and they were no help. I never received a call back as promised, and I will not shop up there again.
Purchased an item from Eileen Fisher's website about a month ago. I know I told myself I'd never give them another penny, but it was an item I'd admired for years and the price was fantastic. Well, I ended up hating the item and went to my local EF store to return it, only to discover that the store has been permanently closed! Apparently EF stores all over the place are being closed. Seems to be a sign of them going out of business, which isn't all that surprising. So I ended up having to mail the return back, which I did weeks ago. It was scanned as "received" a week ago and still no refund. So I sent an e-mail asking about my refund status and was told it could take A MONTH---a freaking MONTH!---for them to process my refund after they receive the package! What! The! Hell! Never again for real this time. Ugh.
I used to be crazy about this brand. Back in the 1990s, when it was very hard to find EF clothing, I'd order from stores on the other side of the country just to get her stuff. Gorgeous fabrics made into high-quality, beautiful clothing that lasted for years. I was happy to fork over piles of money for what was easily 250 pieces over the last 2+ decades. Then, a few years ago, I began to notice poor stitching, ordinary fabrics, and, above all, awful customer service. No one answers the phone, returns take an eternity, and they rarely reply to e-mails. The last 10 pieces or so I purchased have shrunk, fallen apart, developed holes, or fallen victim to other serious quality issues. What will be my final piece of EF was returned last week: After three wearings and one careful hand wash/dry flat, the side seams on a cardigan just... came apart. And they refused to give me my money back; I could only get a store credit. Unreal! I would have happily kept it if it hadn't FALLEN APART! Then I saw on the EF website that they are taking clothing that has been *returned* to them, cut it apart, and sewed it together to make horror-show modern-day madras-type clothing that is not just hideous, but hilarious--I forwarded it to friends and we laughed for hours. This is the end, Eileen. You went out with a whimper.
Overpriced but sales are great. Classic design. Easy to put together.
Only 4 stars because of price and the fact that the clothes are made in China. So I'm skeptical of the environmentally safe claim.
5 stars for how fast the company ships but 1 start for them using ups. Packages routinely delivered to the wrong person.
I have been a loyal customer of Eileen Fisher clothing for decades. Most of my wardrobe has been purchased there. In the last decade since manufacturing has gone from Italy to China the quality has dropped horribly. Wool sweaters have holes within a few months. The acetate fabrics have holes within a few wearings. I've given up. I still have 20-yr-old EF sweaters that are still beautiful. Nothing current is worth the price. I've moved on to other brands, sadly.
