eHarmony Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to perceived deceptive practices regarding refunds and subscription management. Many users express frustration over the lack of suitable matches and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of wasted time and money. Customers frequently highlight inadequate customer service, with limited access to support and automated responses exacerbating their concerns. While a few users mention positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency, better quality control of profiles, and a more responsive customer service approach.

Riddled With Scammers!
July 11, 2025

I had a profile on eHarmony for 18 months. At first it was interesting and exciting to see and communicate with matches, but over time I became more and more concerned about the fake profiles I began to uncover. I reported at least a dozen to eHarmony, where I discovered the same person had similar profiles in two different states. Suspicious, and the company was prompt in taking them down. Then I began to communicate with other matches who were delightful "dreams come true", but where some things started to not "add up" over time. They were all (1) US residents but had foreign roots and dual citizenship which was attractive (2) they moved very quickly to build serious romantic rapport (3) I had phone conversations with all, including video, which was reassuring (4) they also played a "long game" where the connection would be maintained for months before a financial situation would arise and (5) they would not directly ASK for money (at first) but each one ended up having a financial predicament and sought my sympathy and support. (Hint, Hint.) The first one gradually got over $1,000 from me before I caught him in a clear lie and cut him off. The others were more careful and savvy, but did not get any money out of me. One had photos which seemed suspiciously AI, and I ended things when he tried to play dumb. Two scammers wove plots about having inheritances waiting for them which involved gold bars locked up in banks (in other countries) but back fees had to be paid first, etc. (one had video of the bars being counted in the vault) It got to be so ridiculous that I came to rarely trust anyone I met on the site, and finally quit wasting my time. The site is simply riddled with scammers! BEWARE!

Don't waste your money
June 10, 2025
Updated review

The site itself is a SCAM, is made up of FAKE accounts and SCAMMER accounts, you pay $279.96 for nothing. 90% of the "women" are phishing for your phone number I would report 6 or 7 profiles on a weekly basis. Contacting customer service is a waste of time they do not respond.

I was scammed by eHarmony
April 14, 2025
Previous review

First off, all those beautiful women aren't there, they also do not have the numbers, I went through their entire selection in a day.
Second, I shut off "auto renew" but it didn't matter they still renewed me. I contacted support and I've been ignored for 3 weeks. I would NOT recommend this site.

I wasted $485 on this site. I still have 8-months of service available to me and I'm deleting my account. Ever profile I've interacted with is a fake profile. There is too much fraud on this site. Most of the contacts are well over 100 miles from me. Do yourself a favor and try something else!

They told me I was paying $11.99 at 50% off and full price every month after that… they took $600 from my credit card. I can not afford this! Is there any way to get my money back?!?!?

Horrible!
January 29, 2025

Unfortunately if I could leave 0 stars I would! After reading on their terms and conditions that you would be issued a full refund if you cancelled within 14 days and did not use the app, I tried to cancel after 24 hours due to financial reasons. I was then charged £65 for "using" the services. I did not use the services at all, instead received an email from them, that they sent with a 'detailed psychological report' (a load of tosh if I'm honest). This is what they charged me for, and apparently this was me "using the app". Terms and conditions completely contradicts what they do. So many loop holes to get money out of you. Really wouldn't recommend. Feels horrible to have a multi million dollar company steal money from you.

I went through all of my matches within one hour of being on this app. The app suggested that I change my preferences, which is absolutely not an option after filling out the very detailed and time-consuming questionnaire that's what I spent my money on for them to find my perfect match not for me to have to change my preferences. I emailed eHarmony the day. I joined and asked them to refund my money based on the fact that there were no suitable matches, they refused worst site ever don't waste your money.

Zero stars
January 22, 2025

I did my best to give eHarmony a chance after they refused my request for a refund—twice. I completely opened my preferences. No eliminations. Welcome all. I have been on two other dating sites before with far better results. Lots of likes, a reasonable amount of dates, and some that lasted several dates.

Not true of this one. The deal breaker is that virtually all candidates are more than 150 miles from me. Too many have no profile photo, and no, I'm not going to ask for one because a man who can't or won't post a photo has an irredeemable flaw. Plus that's not my job. It's eHarmony's responsibility.

I've had very few profile views, and that's not because I'm a hag. On their competitors' sites I have attracted a lot of attention- and not eHarmony's inappropriate likes from 25 year olds. I won't even go into the poor quality of available matches.

This site has been a huge disappointment and a waste of my time as well as my money. I gave them an opportunity to show that I'm wrong and I'm not. EHarmony is tantamount to a scam in that it's so poorly executed and managed.

Today I asked again for them to cancel this disgrace of a membership and any remaining fees. My expectations are low, in line with my experience thus far.

Stay away
January 20, 2025

I signed up for basic to see matches. It kept pushing to fill out everything and even pick a plan and ask for card info. Whole time I'm assuming they allow you to pick matches and decide to not move forward. I had 2 matches decided not to move forward and said too bad you picked a premium plan and paid. I had no intention of mo if forward till I saw my matches as they advertise and they just didn't care. Total scam.

So disappointed.
December 17, 2024

I joined eHarmony about three weeks ago. Every time I start chatting with someone the next day, they are blocked for violating the rules. I appreciate eHarmony watching out for all of us. However, perhaps they could find a more thorough way of screening these people. Now I am locked into an entire year of this app and there is no return on my money. Just be careful and don't be too hopeful on this site.

Paid $370 for 6mo premium sub on 10/28/24. Members get 15 Match Unlock credit per month. Unaware that I need to screen for "fake" members, I used around 11 credits on fake accounts and 3 on real people, in less than two weeks I used all but 1 credit. And once that is gone (probably going to be wasted on another fake) The service will be useless until my monthly credits reset, almost three weeks from now. Around 66% of the accounts that I have interacted with are fake. There is a huge issue in the screening/quality control process for new members. For example, 60 members within 30 miles. 40 are fake, leaves 20 real. You match with 5. If I knew this I would rather talk to 5 people at the superrmarket and save almost $400 dollars. I tried to contact eharmony about my concerns, only to have some automated system tell me that I can't cancel my subscription and to read the terms and condition. I also tried to contact them via email to regain some of my lost credits and never heard back. I am not looking for a refund, I would rather have it fixed or my credits returned if the fake profile is confirmed and blocked as fake. Also, I want to warn future members before they make the same mistake. Eharmony won't address my complaint so I am posting it here.

Out of 11 mutual "likes" (in six months), 7 of those profiles were blocked by eharmony AFTER we messaged each other twice... It just says the person was blocked for violating their terms (nothing offensive was said to me). So, eharmony is infected / infested with a high amount of scammers/fake/AI type profiles that they call "members"... for their statistical data. They do a bait and switch to make you think you are actually communicating with valid people/profiles. I took a screenshot below showing how eharmony will automatically block people after they let you message back and forth two or three times. I would consider myself attractive but live in a rural area. Nonetheless, I had set my filters to match up with people in other states. But, most of these people would email me similar sentences - so it was strange - eharmony allows this - and then they block the person afterward, to make it look like they're 'on it' with getting rid of scammers - yet those people remain on their site. Very fraudulent - I hope they get sued for the highly fraudulent / unethical behavior.

I was looking for love in my future so I posted a profile on E.Harmony I was happy friendly kind to everyone I sent message too on E.harmony I met some men made some friends and everything was great then one day I could not use my profile, so I asked my friends on E.harmony if they saw anything wrong with my profile they told me my profile and photo had a big red X on my face and that my profile said I was a fake scammer who was a thief and lier that my profile was nothing g but a fake I was so embarrassed I cried I know I am a good Christin lady I know I would never do or say anything wrong to anyone on E.harmony or would I ever think of lying or scamming anyone on E.harmony this is nothing fake about me I'm only looking for love and happiness with a good man instead E.Harmony sent a message to all of my friends on E.Harmony that said I was a scammer to all my friends, another problem is there is not any phone number for E.harmony I am guessing that no-one speaks English at E.Harmony is one reason why no-one can talk to them for any reason they can not be contracted they just do not care about anyone on there dating site for any reason it's sad, they change a lot of money, but would never talk with you over the phone it's a terrible dating site that seemed to want to make sure I had a terrible experience.
Please do not let this happen to you.

Too many scammers
September 17, 2024

I get one like and after message for a day, realized he was a scammer. I tried to report it and left him on my site so they could look into it. I got crickets.
I am seriously considering contacting State attorney general.

What's even worse than their fake profiles and not knowing whether someone's account is still active… It's the completely false advertising to suck you in. They tell you, you can browse for free and yet all of the pictures are blurred out. When you do join all of a sudden the same people are not available as the ones that were blurred out before you joined.

If I can give zero star I will. I signed for 3 months they charge for the whole years! Then I tried to dispute was declined then they blocked your account where you already paid and charged for whole year! A month later aHarmony send me another bill for whole year again! WHAT?
I only used a few months where I barely go to online due the quality and limited amount of members they have.
Is this for real?
Does eharmony still open by scamming people?
Since some people just give up with their bullish
Why this site still around and running with that many complaints?
Why is it legal scamming people?
They don't have real customers service where you can speak too. That (800) number not even work.

It was awful, no customer service "live person" to see what happened to my account. Spent hours trying to figure out what went wrong and got a note that something didn't match up on my profile? Again, no customer service to work things out. Thank you for reading.
