I wanted to order a redbud tree for my Dad for Father's Day in June of last year and went with Tennessee Wholesale Nursery because they were running a BOGO promotion sitewide at the time that I ordered. The day that I placed the order I checked the invoice that was emailed to me and saw that it only specified that my order included one tree and didn't say anything about the BOGO offer. I immediately emailed customer service with my invoice number and asked for clarification on whether my order qualified for the BOGO offer and received an email back stating, "Yes, you will receive a plus one of what you ordered in BOGO promo." I emailed back a thank you and let it go thinking that everything was taken care of.
I didn't realize until a week or so ago that my Dad only received one tree (we live in separate states and he never said anything about it), so I reached out to the business to ask for assistance in getting the second tree from my order. I was sent a screenshot of my original invoice and told that "it does not say this was a BOGO order". I responded with a screenshot of the email conversation I had with the representative in June so they could see that I had noticed this and had reached out to them to clarify and was told that the offer did apply to my order. I was then told that I did not receive the BOGO offer because "the BOGO promo was not selected when ordering. It looks like the representative was stating with a BOGO promo you will receive a plus one" and that "there's not anything we can do". I emailed back this evening pointing out that I sent my invoice number in my initial email when I saw the issue, and that it would have been the responsibility of the customer service representative to look at the invoice to determine whether there was an issue so that they could actually answer my question accurately instead of simply firing off an email with false information. I honestly don't expect to hear from them again given the tone of the emails I received, but even if I do and they correct the issue, I want to issue a "buyer beware" warning. They clearly don't care about their customers or even correcting their own errors. I wish I had thought to check independent reviews of their company before ordering from them.
My Dad received 1 tree.
