This website preys on the human nature of forgetfulness and intentionally makes the T&C unclear. Their sign-up for the free trial even says "risk free", but it is far from it. Now I am going to be out $70 every month for the whole year now for low quality images that I could have gotten on Adobe stock for cheaper. Adobe stock has a waaay better trial period with refunds given if you forget about the auto-renewal. That's what a reputable business should do.
Didn't even use all my credits during the trial period because the available images are $#*!ty but now I'm basically gifting them $840 since I won't supporting this terrible company.
UPDATE: On the day I was charged the $70 (so on the morning of the one month mark of the free trial) I contacted them regarding cancellation through the "contact us" page. According to their cancellation policy (which is NOT explicitly explained on the checkout page) cancellation would not be accepted before the end of the paid subscription term (a full year for most people as I don't even think they offer a monthly option).
However, if you scroll down to the conditions of the cancellation policy, it also says that users of the United States whose free trial has expired and transferred to a paid subscription are actually eligible for cancellation if they have not used their credits after the free trial ends.
They use confusing language to intentionally divert the naive user from attempting cancellation and make it seem like there is no way out, but if you opted for a monthly bill and don't want to pay for the rest of the year, I highly encourage you to contact them as soon as possible to cancel. Also report them to the BBB.
I looked up this website on the Better Business Bureau and saw that many users who filed a claim were able to have their subscriptions cancelled so I also filed a claim just in case my first request I sent to them directly got rejected (which was the case for some users).
In the end they cancelled my annual subscription so will not end up paying $800 for a service I wouldn't be using; they did not however refund my $70. I lucked out compared to others since I opted for a monthly installment plan for the annual membership whereas others who signed up for the trial with the agreement to pay the full annual subscription after the free trial were automatically out $800 and offered terrible resolutions like paying a $450 administration fee in exchange of early cancellation.
Do not sign up for their free trial. The trial is not “risk-free” as they claim since cancelling the trial is made intentionally tedious and time consuming. You will basically be donating almost $1000 since their service is not worth a whole year.
