Dear, How would I ensure with the company that I am dealing online is authentic and not cheating me?

Check their company registration number and verify it from that countries chamber of commerce.
And also check if they have a valid website
And finally make Transaction in BG, SBLC, and MTN so that both parties banks are involved in transaction which reduces the chances of scam
